So you want to show your pride in your Barony with a personalized email address that let's everyone know where you're from? Well, this is the page that will tell you how to do that.

First you have to decided on an ID and a password. Usually for IDs, people choose their SCA names, like "Rory" or "Logan." Other times, they choose their title, like "Baron" or "Baroness." Or they just might make something up, like "Foolhearty." Whatever you choose for your ID is fine, as long as it isn't offensive. Your ID will become your email address.

You also need to pick a password. Something that you will remember really, really well. If you forget your password, I can't tell you what it is.

There is one more thing I need to know: If you want this account to forward to another account, or do you want to use it as a primary account? See, you can either access the account through your email program or over the web, or we can set the account to forward all mail to another email account for you. The choice is yours. But if you want your email to forward, I have to know ahead of time, and I need to know what account to forward it to. You can either give this information to myself, or you can email me with it. Either way will work.

If you chose to forward this account to another account, once I email you back that the account is set up, that is all you will ever need to do. Every piece of email addressed to that account will be forwarded to the account you specified.

If you did not choose to forward your mail, then there is more you need to do.

To access your email via the World Wide Web, simply point your browser to: http://forgottensea.org/up

Everything that you need to access your email from anywhere in the world will be available to you from that web address.

If you wish to use an email program, like Eudora, or Netscape Mail, or Outlook Express, etc. then you'll need some more information:

The Incoming Mail POP3 server address is: forgottensea.org
The Outgoing Mail SMTP server address will be whatever your individual ISP has specified.
Of course your ID and Password will be required.

See, painless. That is all there is to setting up your new email account.

Now, tell all your friends your new email address and tell them that they should get one too!
